Ep. 24. Let’s talk about ‘Chi’

‘Chi’ in Chinese means ‘Air’.  Since ‘Feng Shui’ is how water and wind flows in your house, ‘Chi’ is how air flow in your body.   As I mentioned earlier, while our consciousness believes it can only control our body, our soul could actually reach out to it’s living space (and that’s most likely your home).  And that’s what I believe the reason ‘Feng Shui’ in our house will actually influence our personal energy flow in daily basis.

As you practice breathing method more, you would start to be aware how energy/airflow within your body.  I had many clients who came to me and ask me about their illness.  Before checking into their future and see what’s possible illness for them, I’d always run a quick check on their ‘chi’ (airflow) to see what’s the potential illness it may cause or already have.  For someone who has smooth airflow in their body, they may deal with occasional discomfort, but that discomfort unlikely develope into any major disease. If the airflow stuck around the head, one usually think too much and that will later lead to cancer or head related disease.  Same as those who has airflow stuck by their heart or stomach.  A healthy chi circulate body smoothly without blockage, just like how you should decorate your house with smooth flow.

Energy is a general idea of what we ‘sense’ from people.  So when I mentioned ‘Chi’, people often believe that’s another word for energy.  But if I can clarify it more for you, I would say that ‘Energy’ is more the wattage of the soul (Remember? I said that soul is like light energy?), and Chi is more the air flow around the soul.  You will eventually realized how our body tied closely together with the elements of earth.  We all know that human body contain 70% of water, right?  Well, air is probably the next important thing in your body.  We all know that water could be gentle and forceful in different circumstance, right?  Air is just the same.  With the power of thought and intention, one could direct the air to specific part of the body, someone, and even influence the air around them.  That’s why there’s Martial Art that is base on manipulting Chi.  I am not here to teach people how to be a Chi Master.  But for average people like us, knowing chi could come in handy sometimes when you’d like to check on your own flow of energy from time to time for health, or even manifest it to a broader scale of atmosphere that you are comfortable to be in.

Though Chi is common word that mostly used in Asia, there are various healing practice that is actually using Chi in Western culture as well.  Take Reki for example, it is a healing practice that use Chi and the power of intention.  But I do have to advice you that if the healer did not clear his/her thoughts and mind before healing, his/her feelings and emotions may pass on to those being healed (well, this should apply to all healer.  So put some awareness to your thought if you were a healer, or choose your healer carefully if you are not. ;p)

Anyway, ‘Chi’ basically means ‘Air’.  How air flows inside you and around you, it then create an atmosphere for those who come close to you.  Chi could be manipulated by the power of thought.  Through practicing the breathing method, you may start to be aware how air flows inside your body and around you.  Once you become more aware, try to exercise the power of thought (in this case, focus and concentration will do just fine) and direct those flow to gather around your palms and feel the warmth it creates.  That would be your beginner lesson for controlling Chi inside your body. 🙂
